World IBD Day

Tomorrow is World IBD Day and rather than writing a post about how important awareness is, yada yada, I decided to turn to twitter (and instagram) to help me. I am scheduling tweets about Crohns and ulcerative colitis every 20 minutes from 12am the night of May 19 until 1140pm on Monday night.

Please follow along on twitter @JournalingIBD with the hashtag #WorldIBDday and on Instagram @rissylauren

I will be posting facts about inflammatory bowel disease, as well as my own insights as a patient. I will also include pictures like the ones below to depict the reality of what we all go through.

Whatever you can do to help spread a little bit of awareness for the 5 million people living with Crohns disease or ulcerative colitis, would be much appreciated.

Hugs to everyone and remember, you are not alone!!!! xoxoxo

Getting the word out about IBD is a good thing.
I was diagnosed when I was 12. I remember trying to explain what Ulcerative Colitis was to teachers and they had never even heard of it. A lot of them didn’t understand the seriousness of the disease.
The more we get the word out about these horrible diseases the easier it will be for those who suffer with them.
Thanks for sharing your story. Hope you have a great day.
